User badges are more than just name tags—they're a key element of any successful event. Badges are an effective way to personalize events and identify attendees. They also facilitate networking and help create a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
In addition, they serve as access authorizations, ensuring smooth organization and security, and offer the possibility of automated participant registration in the digital era.
Designing event badges is often a creative process that reflects the event's identity and reinforces the brand image. Whether made of paper or digital technology, event badges play a key role in effectively structuring an event and enabling efficient networking by allowing attendees to more easily get to know each other and connect with each other. With ONevents, it's possible to create custom event badges in many different formats, creating the optimal badge for every event.

design #

You can Generally Size, alignment and the type of your badge. The type can be either Static, i.e. the same for all users, or User-specific be determined.
Use now under HTML & CSS In the editor, HTML to define the structure of the badge and CSS to create the design.

Placeholder #

To customize the badge, you can insert a variety of placeholders listed below. These will then be automatically replaced with the corresponding user data.

QR code #

If you want to add a guest's QR code, adjust the code and the generated image of the QR code will be added:

Upload a PDF template #

You can Settings Select and upload a PDF template. This can be used as the background for the event badge, for example. Background colors, logos, or other design elements can be uploaded here. The file size must match the specified width and height to avoid distortion.
To do so, click on Template file and then select a previously created PDF file from your computer.

Now use the integrated preview window to check the final product. Here you can see your user badge as it would look to a user.

Once you're happy with the design, save the badge to use for your event. It will now be available in your event, and you can attach it to emails or share it with user print out.

Display and print user badges #

To display event badges of guests, you can, after entering the Settings Show badge link in user list was switched on, under user Display the event badge for each guest in the user list and print it directly.

You can also create a PDF with all event badges of all guests. You can find this function in the user management under the Gear icon:

Insert badge into emails #

The finished badge can now be added as an attachment to emails sent via ONevents. This allows attendees to receive their personalized badges, including, for example, public transport tickets, directly in their inbox.

Important information when working with PDFs #

Links with a different display name cannot be stored in a PDF. Written-out links are permitted.
